howdy!

Thank you for taking a moment to join me here. Some of you have so kindly supported and prayed for us through last year’s journey with Joshua. Some of you may be new friends. Either way, this is a place that kinda continues where I left off on the Caring Bridge Blog*, fulfilling both my desire to write and the requests to keep writing.

If you are looking for pep talks and high energy motivation, this will not be the place to find it. (High energy doesn't seem to have taken up residence in me! Smiles.) But rather, if you desire to “be encouraged together by the mutual faith both of you and me,” (Rom. 1:12), then perhaps this will hit the spot.

And I suppose I should add something to qualify this as an “about” section.

I’m Rebecca, still loving my Joshua, who gets to reside Heaven-side a little bit ahead of the rest of us. (Looking forward to an amazing reunion!) Meanwhile, I get to hang out with our eleven fantastic children, the last of which was born on November 26th, 2022, 3 months after Joshua’s home-going.

If you visit our home, you would find shoes scattered in the entryway, toys and school books on the floor, and maybe even a dirty diaper waiting to be taken to the outside trash. But, you would also hear the sounds of laughter, school-time chatter, and baby squeals. With a mish-mash of interests and talents, the kids fill our family with the love of the outdoors, animals, music, theatrics, hunting, reading and…you get the idea.

My life looks quite a bit different than it once did not long ago. I find that I’m slowly emerging from a tunnel of sorts and still a little unsure of what my new “normal” is (whatever that means). These last months have been both intense with emotion, but incredibly precious as I reflect on the ways the Lord has taught and grown me. He indeed is my Wonderful Counselor and my greatest Comforter. I am learning to both praise and trust Him more…and in return, He draws me closer. What a wonderful Saviour!

The name Rebecca means “steadfast.” There have been many moments in my life when I haven’t lived up to my name. And yet, in the midst of all the fallings and failings, the standard still is raised and Jesus lifts me up yet again—as He does all of us who call out to Him. It is my aim, my goal, my determination to remain steadfast in and to Him, no matter what the cost.

Please join me if you will.

Forever Steadfast.
